Mikey's music journey started at McClennan Community College in Waco Texas where he studied music performance and theory under Dick Gimble, son of legendary fiddle player Johnny Gimble. Shortly after college he began writing his own music and formed the infamous Mikey Bowers Band or "MBB". Since then he has released two critically acclaimed studio records and written songs for many other artists. After a few years of touring he decided that the road wasn't where his heart was so took a job as an agent at KB Talent(Josh Abbott Band, Whiskey Meyer etc ) working under Bruce Kalmick now with (Triple 8 Management/ Why And How). After a brief run at KB Talent, Mikey went to work with veteran manager and agent, Greg Henry, who owned and operated the top agency in Texas at the time, Austin Universal Entertainment. AUE is also where legendary agent Chad Kudelka(Cody Johnson, Koe Wetzel etc) honed his skills before launching Red 11 and moving on to CAA in 2022. Mikey worked with Greg at AUE until he sold the company. Faced with a decision to stick around or head out on his own, Mikey decided to launch Maverick Elite Entertainment in 2010 and worked as an agent for acts like Steve Wariner, Tracy Byrd, Doug Stone, Rick Trevino, Wade Hayes,Andy Griggs, Darryl Worley , Deryl Dodd etc. In addition to being an agent, he managed hit singer songwriter George Ducas who penned “Kiss Me In The Dark” by Randy Rogers, “Always The Love Songs” Eli Young Band , hits for Sara Evans and even Garth Brooks. Mikey also played a major role in developing and putting singer songwriter Ward Davis on the map by spearheading his first tour with Cody Jinks. Since 2017 Mikey spends most of his time as a talent buyer handling entertainment for many fairs, fests, clubs , theaters , arenas, chambers, cities, venues etc and deals directly with WME, CAA, , UTA, ARM,NEAL, WASSERMAN,ACT, RELIANT, APA etc on a daily basis booking all genres of music as well as managing hit singer songwriter Rick Huckaby ( Beer with Jesus by Thomas Rhett, Muddy Water by Trace Adkins, 30 plus songs for Tracy Lawrence etc ) and working as an exclusive agent for the legendary Texas red dirt act The Great Divide
